How to Get Into the Mall in Routine

The Mall is one of the most important early areas in Routine, but reaching it isn’t as simple as taking the tram and walking in. Because Union Plaza is still under lockdown, the entrance beyond Mall Station is sealed, forcing you to access it through an alternate path. Here’s a complete guide on how to enter the Mall and what happens immediately afterward.

 

Why You Need to Access the Mall

The Mall contains several story-critical locations, including Megazone, O’Neill’s Electronics, and the Security Office. You’ll also find clues regarding Kei Koyama as well as a key CAT module required for progression. Since these areas are mandatory for the main mission to shut down the ASN, finding a way into the Mall is essential.

 

Where to Go First

From the Mall Station, make your way to the reception area. Just past the desk, you’ll find a row of check-in terminals. Your goal is to interact specifically with Terminal 08.

 

1. Use Terminal 08

• Approach Terminal 08 and press the login button.
• The game will ask for your login ID.
• Your ID number is printed directly on your suit’s chest plate.

Just look down to view it. The number changes in every playthrough, so you must use your own unique code.

 

2. Choose Your Reason for Visiting

Once the terminal accepts your ID, it will ask whether you’re entering for business or pleasure. This choice does not affect the story, so feel free to pick either option. After selecting, hit the finish button to trigger the elevator sequence.

 

When the Error Appears

The terminal will throw an error instead of opening the way forward. This is normal and part of the process. To continue:

• Return to the reception desk.
• Press the red button labeled “Push for Assistance”.

This action reactivates the IC robot, which will examine the kiosk and then proceed toward a locked “no entry” barrier. Follow it closely.

 

 

Enter Through Staff-Only Access

The IC robot will unlock and pass through the restricted-area barrier that leads to the staff ladder access. Once it opens the way, follow it through. This path takes you into the Mall’s internal areas, bypassing the main lockdown.

 

You’re Inside… But There’s a Catch

After stepping into the Mall interior, you’ll immediately face danger. A Type 05 robot begins plasma-cutting its way through a security door, blocking your exit. The only way to move forward is to slip past it quietly.

 

Stay low, avoid making noise, and move carefully to escape the room without drawing attention. Once you get through, the Mall opens up and exploration continues.
